My blog suddenly got revived again because I'm upset again.

I just went through a really long day - had a guitar class and then ensemble and watched a dance performance. Actually when I compare my ensemble playing and the dance performance, it's actually quite a reality check.

Why? The concert is one month away and our standard is still like...this?
And every week people are repeating the same mistakes?

Guitar Ensemble: To me, Ensemble >> Guitar. Meaning? If the word ensemble - playing together is much much more important than the instrument. There is a conductor. The conductor is there and no one is utilizing him enough.

Then I don't know why I'm working so hard for all the programme booklet, for the website and for the poster. People don't even get things right, even things that are mentioned so many times. I feel very sad for people who do practice very hard for the concert, because the songs can be well ruined by some other people playing the wrong note at the wrong time.

Programme booklet, posters, voice overs, Robert's pre-show talk - all are just value adding to the concert. It's still the playing. We are guitar ensemble - not publicity group or performance group. Our value is determined by our music. No matter what I do, I'm just adding to the value.

But ONCE the value is not there, the music is not there,

I don't know why my role even exists.
